Basement Floor Finishing

Choosing the wrong flooring material has dire consequences in a basement. Wood is a bad choice because it is so susceptible to mold and mildew. That's why wood sleepers, plywood subflooring, and wood finished flooring options should always be avoided.

Other materials like carpeting and carpet pads can be used in basements, but only if they are protected from moisture. That's exactly what TBF's flooring products are designed to do.

ThermalDry flooring products are available as subfloor tiles, carpeted tiles, and vinyl-faced tiles designed to look like ceramic tile or wood parquet flooring.

ThermalDry flooring tiles offer the following advantages:

  • Plastic base material will not support mold or mildew.
  • Integral air spaces on the underside of the flooring allow moisture to drain and dry, while also preventing moisture from contacting finished flooring.
  • Only ½ in. thick, ThermalDry flooring won't steal valuable headroom in a basement remodel.
  • ThermalDry flooring won't warp, bow or delaminate like wood products, and it's durable enough to last for many years.
  • Individual tiles can be removed for cleaning, replacement or to provide access to the concrete floor.
  • Floor tiles are designed to act as a thermal break between concrete floor and the finished floor surface, helping the floor surface to be 5-10 degrees warmer than the concrete.

Available in basement tile, basement carpet, wood parquet, or full faux wood basement floor finishes. Also available as unfinished basement subflooring if you would like to lay your own wall-to-wall carpeting.
