A damp basement and an aging pumping system can quickly become a source of concern for homeowners. In Saint-Fabien-de-Panet, signs of moisture and the condition of the existing system highlighted the importance of upgrading the water drainage system to better protect the home.

To improve water management, Systèmes Sous-Sol Québec installed three essential components: a SuperSump sump pump, an IceGuard freeze protection system, and a discharge line to carry water outside.

The SuperSump pump collects and discharges water that has accumulated in the sump pit. Meanwhile, the IceGuard system provides additional protection when the discharge outlet is at risk of being blocked by freezing or other obstructions. The discharge line then carries the water away from the foundation, helping to limit water buildup near the house.

This installation modernizes the pumping system and improves protection for the basement against risks associated with water infiltration. Effective water management is essential for preserving the foundation, minimizing water damage, and promoting a drier, healthier indoor environment.

At this Sainte-Sabine home, the crawl space was dealing with water intrusion and severe fungal growth, with mold climbing 3-4 feet up the wooden beams, as seen in the "before" photo. CleanSpace sealed the crawl space with a durable vapor barrier, while SilverGlo provided superior insulation, keeping the space dry and energy-efficient. Finally, we treated the mold-affected areas with Mold-X2 Stain Remover, followed by Mold-X2 Botanical to prevent regrowth.
