Leaky Basement Windows in Odon, IN

Homeowner Rita, from Odon, IN had a finished basement that would leak water. Having window wells that were over 25 years old and uncovered made an easy path for water to leak in. Since the basement has low air pressure (sucking air in), the cold winter air or warm humid summertime air is pulled into the basement. You end up paying more in heating, cooling, and dehumidification costs than if you were to replace the windows.

Rita gave Healthy Spaces a call and Design Specialist Jake Stilwell, quickly came to evaluate her basement windows. He concluded that Rita would need 5 new EverLast basement windows, along with our SunHouse window enclosures. EverLast windows are all vinyl so they'll never rot, rust, or need to be painted. They also have double pane glass and good weather stripping for warmth and comfort. Our SunHouse basement window enclosures feature a sturdy, clear cover that fits nicely and a bottom that prevents weed growth, keeps leaves, debris, and rain out. The best benefit of the SunHouse for Rita to enjoy is that it allows more sunlight to bounce into her basement giving her natural sunlight.

Dubois, IN TripleSafe Sump Pump Installation

There are different levels of water intrusion in a basement.  Some basements just leak a little and it doesn't feel like much of a big deal.  Other basements have consistent flooding that can really fill up the space with water in no time!  Because there are different amounts of water intrusion, there are different levels of sump pumps.  The most powerful sump pump on the market is the TripleSafe sump pump.  The rugged plastic body hold not one but three pumps set at different heights to handle every level of water intrusion possible.  The first pump is for the regular water load that comes in rain or shine.  The second pump is set higher up to help pump when a sudden rainstorm starts filling the basket quickly.  Finally, there's a third pump even higher up that runs on a battery back up and can kick on if the pump is overwhelmed.

Crawl Space Access Well Installed in Celestine, IN

This homeowner in Celestine, IN, had an addition to his home with a crawl space underneath it. He worried about moisture getting in and wanted to know what could be done about it, so he gave Healthy Spaces a call.

Our Design Specialist, Mike Rogers, met with the homeowners and together they decided that covering the crawl space entry well with The Turtl is the best way to eliminate that moisture.

The Turtl is a durable plastic crawl space access well that we offer as part of our crawl space vapor barrier system. It's not only an airtight cover, but it also doubles as an access well AND door combined! The plastic design is perfect for the outdoors because it's made to endure daily wear and tear and ensures that it will never rot, rust, or need paint.

Sump Pump Loogootee, IN

Joe in Loogootee, IN, had water issues in his basement. He said it looked like someone tried to previously install some interior drainage in the past but it's not working. Basement Waterproofing in Montgomery, IN

Dennis E. from Montogmery, IN called Healthy Spaces because water had been taking over his basement. When it would rain, he would be waiting for water to creep in, while the uncertainty of how much would enter his basement kept him worrying. He had a shopvac ready to soak up all of the water, as well as fans to help everything dry up quickly. Dennis and his family were ready to have their life back.

Design Specialist, Mike McAtee, was called to the job. After completing a thorough inspection of the basement, he decided that a WaterGuard system would best conquer the issues the basement was having. This is a drainage system installed around the perimeter of the basement that collects any water that may leak in. From there, the water runs to the sump pump, which is then disposed of out of discharge lines. Mike also inspected that GeoLocks were needed to help the basements foundation become stable. This system will hold the walls in their current position and can be tightened over time if needed. This will allow for improvement and straightening of the wall. Lastly, CleanSpace was installed to be a wall covering, but also a moisture control barrier just in time for the hot summer months.

When the work was finished, Dennis was very pleased with the work that was done and was happy that there won't be any more leaking water in his basement.
